Throne Hill Trail Hike
Sunday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. join members of Groton Trails Committee and Appalachian Mountain Club on guided hike through woods on trails of Throne Hill, West Groton.
The Throne is a conservation area owned by Groton Conservation Trust and one of largest contiguous undeveloped parcels in the area. It provides habitat for deer, bears, porcupines, fishers, moose, and beavers. It features upland forest and interesting wetlands.
The walk takes about two hours. Wear winter hiking boots, snowshoes, or crampons/spikes, a conditions warrant. Leashed dogs welcome. Hike held unless stormy. Meet at end of Castle Drive, 42.6260N, 71.6171W. Olin Lathrop, olin@embedinc.com, (978) 742-9014.
