Johnston and Hayes Conservation Area Guided Trail Hike

Sunday, Sept.20 at 1PM sharp, join members of the Groton Trails Committee and the Appalachian Mountain Club on a guided hike through the beautiful woods of the Johnston and Hayes Conservation Areas.

We will start at the newly replaced Fitch's Bridge over the Nashua River, then hike along an old railroad bed and through the Johnston Conservation Area managed by the Groton Conservation Commission. We will continue into Hayes Woods, owned by the Groton Conservation Trust, exploring a lovely beaver pond, then return to end our hike.

The hike will take about two hours and is suitable for families with children. Wear comfortable hiking shoes. Dogs must be kept under owner's control and leashed upon request. The hike will be held unless it is very stormy. Meet at Fitch's Bridge. Park at the Fitch's Bridge entrance, found on Pepperell Rd. between Throne Hill Rd. to the north and Wallace Rd. to the South. 42.62549N, 71.60886W. Olin Lathrop, (978) 742-9014, olin@embedinc.com.
