St. Andrew's to Debut Children's Choir on Easter

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is delighted to announce the debut of the parish’s Children’s Choir at the 9:30 a.m. Easter Service on Sunday, April 21. Led by parishioner, Michelle Eberle, the children have been rehearsing for several months, studying two- and three-part harmonies. The Children’s Choir will be joined by the parish’s Adult Choir and several instrumentalists: Claire Rindenello, flute; Maria Rindenello-Parker, harp; Marcus Gonsalves, trumpet; Kathleen Keen, French horn; Michelle Eberle, viola.

The Easter service will be proceeded by a giant Easter Egg Hunt at 9 a.m. All children are invited to bring a basket or bag and join in this annual event.

St. Andrew’s is located at 7 Faulkner Street in Ayer and is a family-friendly community where children are always welcome. The Sunday Celebration of Holy Communion is at 9:30 a.m. and is followed by Coffee Hour in the Parish Hall. Thursday, April 18 Maundy Thursday Seder Service and Meal beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, April 19 at Noon: Gather at St. Andrew’s Episcopal and walk the Stations of the Cross to the Federated Church which will be open for quiet reflection until 3 p.m.

Friday, April 19 Good Friday Service of Darkness  7:30 p.m.

Saturday: April 20 Easter Vigil 7:30 p.m.

Sunday April 21 Easter Sunday Worship at 10:15 a.m.

 

Union Congregational Church of Groton

Palm/Passion Sunday, April 14, 10 a.m. Palms will be handed out; Senior Choir 

Maundy Thursday, April 18, 7:30 p.m. Holy Communion will be served. Senior Choir will sing with the traditional Tenebrae scripture readings accompanied by the extinguishing of lights symbolizing Christ’s death. A beautiful, dramatic worship service.  

Good Friday, April 19, noon. We gather to pray, sing, and view a 20-minute video interpretation of the arrest, trial, and death of Jesus, as recorded in the Gospel of John. 

Easter Sunday, April 21, 10 a.m. Traditional Family Worship; Senior, Handbell Choir and Trumpet; Holy Communion will be served; No Sunday School.

First Parish Church of Groton, Unitarian Universalist Friday, April 19, 7 p.m.

All adults and older youth are invited to this peaceful, poignant service of reflection, poetry, music and silence as we encounter the story of Jesus’ last days, reckon with the grief of loss and prepare ourselves for the spiritual rebirth of Easter morning. Those who are grieving the deaths of loved ones or other losses or feel in need of healing are especially welcome to this simple, quiet, spacious service. Child care is provided.

Sunrise Easter Service — Sunday, April 21, 5:30 a.m. at 100 Hollis Street

All are welcome for the annual Easter Sunrise Service. Dress warmly, bring your coffee and greet the Easter dawn. The service will take place in the field at 100 Hollis Street, Groton with a beautiful view of Gibbet Hill.

Easter Egg Hunt for Children of All Ages — Sunday, April 21, a.m. on the common in front of the church

Children of all ages are welcome to come hunt for surprise-filled eggs on the common in front of the church. We welcome all children including those with special needs or mobility challenges. There will be coffee (for grownups) and muffins for all. Gather at 9 a.m., egg hunt begins at 9:15 a.m..

Easter Service — Sunday, April 21, 10 a.m.

Our service focuses on the joy and surprise of Easter Morning and the celebration of renewal and rebirth. All are very welcome. There will be childcare for babies and toddlers.

Passover Seder – Saturday, April 27, 5:30 – 8 p.m.

All are Welcome to our annual celebration of the Jewish Festival of Freedom including potluck dinner, singing, telling the story of how the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt long ago and re-dedication ourselves to the work of liberation for all people. Church of the Good Shepherd Acton  Holy Week and Easter Services

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, April 14, with the Liturgy of the Palms and Holy Eucharist. at both  8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services. Maundy Thursday service is April 18 at 7:30 p.m. with Holy Eucharist and foot washing. Good Friday Service is a contemplative Tennebrae service with communion and reflective music on April 19 at 7:30 p.m. there will be three services on Easter Sunday, April 21: 7:45 a.m. Holy Eucharist; 9 a.m. Interactive Child-friendly Eucharist with music; and 10:45 a.m. Traditional Festal Holy Eucharist with Anthem Choir. Nursery care is available at the 9 and 10:45 a.m. services.
