Senator Kennedy Holds Office Hours

Sen. Ed Kennedy will be available to meet with constituents during office hours in the district this month. In Groton, Thursday, January 23 from 3 to 4 p.m. at Groton Public Library; 99 Main St. No appointments are necessary. Stop in to say hello or discuss issues and concerns with Sen. Kennedy. All are welcome.

Fitness at Groton Sr. Center

Groton Center Fitness room is open and accepting registrations. Annual cost is $50 for residents 50 and older and $100 for a non-resident. The Fitness Center is equipped with state-of-the-art machines including: treadmills, recumbent bike, recumbent stepper, rowing machine, and Keiser hydraulic resistant machines for your upper back, legs and arms. All machines are available Monday-Fridays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Karen Gibson Stokdyk

Karen Gibson Stokdyk, 68, passed peacefully on Friday, Janu- ary 17, 2020, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
     Born March 5, 1951, in Riverside, California, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Kathleen (Meuse) Gibson of Rochester, NH.

Learning Kokedama: Living Sculture

Groton Garden Club member and Instructor Ellen Todd (Center) encouraged Club members to get creative and learn about the art of Kokedama. Member Valerie Baier (l.) , and Wendy Jones (R.) flank Instructor Ellen Todd as they display their Kokedama creations.           This style of Japanese plant culture that translates to "moss sphere". A plant's root system is wrapped with moss and bound with string, transforming the plant into a potless living sculpture.
